Hard shell, soft shell, grip, sleeves... are these food items, clothing, tools or iPad2 accessories? If these are questions you have been asking yourself, you are not alone. Like so many others, if you are not familiar with these products, you do not know where to start your search for your specific needs. Here is a list of several different types of cases and how they can make your life easier.
Hard Shell Protection Hard shell cases are the very basic of cases available for your iPad. They are typically comprised of hard plastic and for the most part offer protection to the back and sides of the gadget. This particular product in general has some flexibility to allow it to be flexed around the gadget allowing easier removal and placement.
TPU, Jelly and Grip A "grip" case is the most common case made. It is usually comprised of a material called TPU which is an extremely flexible, jelly-like material. This softness allows the accessory to be molded around your iPad while still holding its shape once removed. These are used mainly for their easy grip but still great level of protection for your iPad. The Defender by Otterbox is one of the most purchased grip cases for iPad 2. This grip case is virtually indestructible as well.
Folio Design The Folio style case stands out from the rest, literally. Its design is more of a conventional binder which holds your iPad and can actually be constructed as a stand for your iPad, so it CAN stand out while also offering many viewing angles. Another advantage is that the front cover protects the screen while your iPad is stored. Style options are both fabric and leather materials.
Neoprene Sleeve A sleeve is a popular choice but mainly for those that travel often. The sleeve is made of a neoprene material which protects the device. Many have the capacity for your iPad and another case to be stored inside. One disadvantage is that the device cannot be used while stored in the sleeve, many like to have a case on their device while using. However, if you do quite a bit of traveling, this is a great storage and protection option.
These are only four options of cases and brief descriptions for your iPad 2 protection. There are many, many more options available. Take time consider the needs your lifestyle will require from an iPad 2 case. Once you pinpoint your needs, you will know what kind of case to buy.
