Where to Download Novels - iPad Alternatives

Move over Amazon Kindle and conventional books, the Apple iPad is finally here. In case you're not exactly certain of what the iPad really is, it generally resembles a large iPod Touch or iPhone, known as a tablet computer that is mainly used for internet browsing and media consumption. This revolutionary new gadget allows user to upload photos, write various documents, watch movies, and read and download novels. iPad users can read books, magazines, newspapers, and whatever other information sources that they so desire.

Now, let's take a look at a few alternatives to download novels. iPad users can benefit from:

Amazon Kindle For iPad

Before the launch of the iPad, the Amazon Kindle was one of the top ebook readers on the market. While the Kindle will probably still remain popular, Amazon and Apple have worked out something very smart for iPad users: a Kindle application for the iPad which includes Whispersync technology, which actually synchronizes the reader's last page, bookmarks pages, takes notes and highlights text and is completely compatible with the Apple iPad and to download novels. iPad users are most definitely thankful for this revolutionary application, which can be purchased from Apple's App Store.

The Apple iBookstore

This is, of course, Apple's content sales store and delivery system for all iBooks to be used on the iPad, the iPhone, and the iTouch. Before the iPad was released, several publishers like Penguin Books, HarperColins, Simon & Schuster, Macmillan Publishers, and Hachette Book Group USA entered into a joint venture with Apple to produce content for the iBookstore.

Stanza For iPad

While there is still speculation about a Stanza application for iPad being developed, it seems that Apple is looking to restrict ebook readers to just Kindle and iBook, at least for a little while. When Apple does decide to let third-party ebook reader applications in, Stanza will most likely be a popular choice to download novels. iPad owners will have to wait and see what happens.

MyPadMedia

This is every iPad owner's dream. If you're really looking to load up your iPad with various types of media, whether it be graphic novels, newspapers, comic books, magazines, or whatever, this is most likely the alternative for you. Unlike the Apple iBookstore which charges about $12 for each separate iBook, MyPadMedia is much more efficient in delivering the best iPad media files for your personal usage.

The Apple iPad As an Ereader

From the time when it was little more than supposition the Apple iPad has been one of the most rumored and hyped about gadgets ever. After the official introduction of the iPad by Steve Jobs on January 27, 2010, one of the constant themes in the media coverage has been about how the iPad will make dedicated ereaders obsolete.

Now that the iPad has been out for a while and we have been able to use it we can make some more informed judgments as to what its strengths and weaknesses are. Here I will look at the iPad in terms of how well it performs as an ereader.

First of all, the display of the iPad is gorgeous. The color LCD display is beautiful, the touchscreen is very responsive, and the iPad is quite fast. These features make the iPad not only very good for watching video, viewing photos, browsing the Internet, gaming and other such activities; they also make it very well suited to reading magazines, newspapers, comics and illustrated books.

Magazines and newspapers also benefit from the interactive approach that is possible on a device such as the iPad. Being able to tap a hyperlink to reach more in-depth reading about a story or to access additional illustrations is well suited to reading periodicals.

Reading PDF documents on the iPad with an app such as GoodReader also works very well. Panning and zooming with your fingers on the multitouch display is very quick and works well. Unfortunately, while the iPad is very good for viewing PDF documents, most of the apps are not capable of editing or making annotations. Generally speaking, I have found the iPad to be best suited for viewing content and less well suited to creating and editing content.

But what about reading ordinary books that are mostly if not entirely text? The aspect of reading books on the iPad that I like best is the access it gives you to eBooks from different sources. Besides iBooks, which is the reading app from Apple and which seems mainly oriented to those who prefer titles from the bestsellers lists, there are also the Kindle for iPad app, an app from Kobo Books and a Wattpad reading app. An app should also be forthcoming soon from Barnes and Noble. This gives you access to the Kindle Store as well as to eBooks with DRM supported by Adobe Digital Editions.

The Kindle for iPad app is good as it not only gives you access to the best eBook provider (currently with over 500,000 titles), but will also sync your last read page with your Kindle ereader or the Kindle apps for other devices. This is also the only eBook reading app at the moment that lets you take notes on your reading.

While the iPad does work very well for reading illustrated books and magazines, there are some drawbacks to using it for reading regular books that are all or mostly text. First of all, at one and a half pounds, the iPad weighs considerably more than most ereaders. This fact makes it less portable and less comfortable to use in some situations. Holding the iPad with only one hand does not work very well. If you commute by public transit, it will be harder to use an iPad on a crowded train or subway car.

Most ereaders with e-ink screens have a battery life measured in thousands of page turns and usually need to be recharged every ten days to two weeks. The iPad battery lasts ten to twelve hours.

The iPad is pretty much unreadable outdoors in the sunshine. In a shady location outdoors the screen is readable, though you will probably find yourself tilting the screen to find the most glare-free position. There have as well been early reports of the iPad overheating when used in sunshine. Dedicated ereaders with e-ink screens are perfectly readable outdoors in sunlight or shade - if you do a lot of your reading at the beach a Kindle would definitely be a better choice than the iPad!

Some of the dedicated ereaders such as the Kindle have a free 3G connection you can use to browse and purchase eBooks and then download your selections directly to your ereader within a few seconds. With the iPad Wi-Fi obviously you will need to be able to connect with a wireless network. With the 3G version of the iPad (which starts at over $600) you will need to pay a monthly fee for the connection.

Only iBooks (which only has 60,000 titles to start) will let you purchase eBooks from within the app. If you are using the Kindle for iPad or another ereader app you will be dropped into a browser to shop the app's eBook store rather than from within the app itself. When finished shopping you will have to restart the reading app. This can be less convenient and involves more steps than buying books on the Kindle. This is not a big issue for me, but some users do complain about it.

There are lots and lots of things to do on the iPad. This is a good thing... but it also means that there are always lots of things to distract you from your reading.

In my case the worst thing about using the iPad as an ereader is the backlit screen. I can stare into my computer monitor up to 12 or more hours a day - browsing the Internet, working with documents, playing games and the other things most of us use our computers for and usually I do not suffer from eyestrain. However, I have never enjoyed reading more than a few pages of an eBook at a time on an LCD monitor. Reading a book is different than browsing the Internet or working with documents because books are made up of long unbroken blocks of text.

I find that the iPad does cause eyestrain for me when reading books. Turning down the brightness level helps but it does not solve the problem, at least for me. Most of the reading apps on the iPad include a "Night Mode" feature that gives you a light colored text on dark background (as opposed to the conventional black text on white background) that does help reduce eyestrain in my case. Still, I have both dedicated ereaders and an iPad and I usually prefer to read books on the e-ink screens of the ereaders, which are no more tiring on your eyes than reading paper. I usually use the iPad for reading books that are unavailable on my particular ereaders. There are also occasions when the backlit screen can be advantageous when reading in a dark environment.

For casual readers who usually only read for no more than 20 to 30 minutes at a time the iPad will probably be fine, but if you typically read for longer periods at a sitting it may be uncomfortable for you. How much eyestrain reading long blocks of text on a backlit screen causes will vary from person to person, but for most people reading a book for an hour or two on an LCD screen is probably going to be an unpleasant experience.

While the iPad is a wonderful gadget and has many uses, when it comes to reading eBooks I think that it will probably work best for occasional or casual readers. If you read a lot you will probably find that it is not as good as a dedicated ereader for reading eBooks.

The iPad 2 Official Review: A Sequel That Trumps the Original

Are you about to purchase an iPad 2 and curious as to whether you'll get your money's worth? If so, you've got to hear what the die-hard Apple fans are saying about this brand new revelation in mobile technology. In this review, you'll learn exactly what the iPad 2 has to offer, whether you're a professional, a gamer, an aspiring musician or just a gadget enthusiast.

You'll also be glad to know that you can purchase the iPad 2 without having to pitch a tent and wait in a 24 hour queue outside the Apple store just to get your hands on one.

We'll get to that in a second...
For now, let's talk about the features of the iPad 2 and why people are itching to get their hands on one.

What You'll Notice Right Away About the iPad 2

You might have heard the saying: "It's never as good as the first time," but the technical genius Steven Jobs and his team of ninja programmers have proven that wrong with the creation of the new iPad 2.

The first thing you'll notice about your brand new iPad 2 is its slimmer, sexier, super light weight design. If you're the type of person who wants super fast access to your favorite applications and projects without having to be weighed down by a bulky machine, the iPad 2 is just what the doctor ordered.

It's lightweight, convenient design is equaled only by its screaming processor speed, which leaves the original iPad in the dust, streaming videos, graphics and web pages at nine times the speed as its predecessor. In fact, Josh Ong from Appleinsider claimed that the display for the iPad 2 had an "almost identical performance to the iPhone 4."Best yet, the iPad 2 has the same battery life as the original iPad, making it the perfect solution for working on your projects at your favorite outdoors spot like the beach or the park.

Of course, some techies are still claiming that the camera features still don't match those which are found on some cell phones. Nevertheless, the iPad 2 is the perfect gadget for someone who wants the flexibility and independence of accessing their favorite websites and their projects from anywhere that they please.

The Apple iPad 2 also has some eerily futuristic gaming features could almost be right out of a science fiction novel...

What Makes the iPad 2 a Dream Come True for Even the Most Hard to Impress Gamers

If you thought the iPad was a dream come true for gamers, get ready to fall in love with its superfast, feature rich sequel: the iPad 2. The iPad 2 might just be for Gamers what CGI animation was for movie buffs. Not only does the 900% increase in graphics speed make the speed of the original iPad look like molasses running uphill, its new intelligent features combine the virtual gaming world with the real world.

For example, your physical movements can actually control where your game character is looking or the direction of their attack! Move your iPad 2 down, up or to the left or right, and you can change the direction of your attack! Also, say goodbye to slow loading or response times, the iPad 2's super fast processor speed and graphics delivery makes those a thing of the past.

Are you an aspiring musician or someone who just wants to create their own tunes and share them with friends? If so, just wait until you hear how the iPad 2 delivers an irresistible set of features for making everyone's dream of being a published musician come true...

The iPad 2 Bridges the Talent Gap for Aspiring Musicians

Have you always wanted to create your own music, but didn't have the training and education to make your end product sound like it did in your mind? If so, you'll be blown away by the musical composition features of your new iPad 2.The iPad 2 comes fully equipped with a brand new version of Garage Band, available for only a measly $9.99, which allows you to create multi-track which you can export directly to iTunes!

You have hundreds of instruments including guitars, pianos and virtual drum sets at your fingertips. You can use these instruments to create your own music or to play along with tracks of your favorite songs. Best yet, these instruments can be set to where it's impossible for you to play out of tune, since they're tuned only to the key of your composition.

You can also convert your iPad into an 8-track sampler and use the virtual "dummy proof" instrument features to crank out your own multi-instrument creations. When you're done, simply record them and upload them directly into iTunes. Considering the reasonable price and the portability of the iPad 2, how amazing is it that you can now accomplish what used to take tens of thousands dollars in expensive studio equipment and hours of trial and error to put together?

So now that I've got you salivating over the super-sequel to the original iPad, you're probably wondering how easy it is to get a hold of one at a decent price right?
Some Great News for iPad 2 Enthusiasts: No Waiting

As you're reading this, hundreds of thousands of raving Apple fans are swarming the Apple stores. Some of them are waiting for up to 24 hours just to get their hot little hands on one of these dream machines. In fact, Amanda Foote, a college student from New York who had been waiting in line for over 40 hours to purchase an iPad 2, sold her first spot in the iPad 2 queue for nine-hundred dollars.

The problem is that the Apple stores frequently "run out of stock," a known scarcity strategy which Apple uses to generate more press about their hot new products. If you'd rather purchase your iPad 2 without resorting to spending days living in the parking lot of your local Apple dealer, you'll be glad to know that you can order online and escape the madness.

In summary, the iPad 2 is surely worth the money, and you're going to realize this once you get your hands on one.

iPad and iPad 2 - Apple Takes One More Step Further

Update (Tuesday, March 15, 2011): iPad 2 Sales Soaring

iPad 2 sales have been sky-rocketing. Apple sold close to, or over 500,000 iPad 2s last weekend. It's reported that in many cities several retailers like Best Buy, Target and Walmart ran out of stock on the very first day of the launch.

Sources claim a sale of 400,000 to 500,000 iPad 2s as compared to 300,000 of the original iPads in its first weekend. There appears to be a large number of sales made to first time owners of iPad.

iPad 2 retailers should be replenishing the tablet stock this week. Buyers also have the option of ordering online through the Apple or the AT&T site. However this involves a waiting period of 3-4 weeks for Apple and 2-3 weeks for AT&T before shipping the product out.

Apple takes one more step further with the launch of iPad 2

Apple has always been known for introducing products with out-of-the-ordinary designs and innovative features that have never failed to take the consumer market by storm. Years ago this started with the iPod revolution. Today iPod with its several designs and models has been a must-have possession for music lovers. Then came iPhone which was akin to having a mini-computer with a phone in your pocket. With its sleek design and features and increasing popularity, it soon proved to be a phone that everyone was proud to flaunt.

The launch of iPad

Apple did not stop at that and the market saw the advent of Apple's popular touchscreen tablet device, the iPad, which went on sale in April of last year. The aesthetics and the ease-of-use of iPad was worth raving about. Though there was a section of the consumer market that was apprehensive of the usability of the tablet and called it merely a status symbol, people gradually starting to appreciate the ease-of-use, portability and convenience it brought whether you had to surf the internet, check emails, use it as a music jukebox or for document processing and file-management.

It soon gained popularity amongst students who preferred studying their notes from the iPad. It's longer-than laptop battery life and light-weightedness made it popular amongst those who are frequently on the go. Right now at the App Store, there are thousands of apps available to download that open a whole new world of features to the iPad. iPad apps are expanding the learning experience both inside and outside the classroom. From interactive lessons to study aids to productivity tools, there's something for everyone. iBooks on iPad has introduced a novel way to buy and read books.

The world of business apps for iPad will transform the way you work. On iPad, you can review and edit common office documents such as Microsoft Office and iWork files. You can also create beautiful presentations from scratch, craft complex spreadsheets, annotate PDFs, and access important files on your corporate network.

The increasing popularity was clearly evident from the iPad sales which shot to 7.46 million by September 2010, which was just 6 months after its launch. Reports say that the last 3 months of 2010 saw an additional sale of 7.33 million iPads.

Though Apple's Steve Jobs introduced the iPad as a device that would occupy the world between smart phones and laptops, potential customers weren't convinced because of certain missing and expected features. To mitigate these gaps, Apple unveiled the iPad 2 on March 2. The long anticipated iPad2 will debut the market on March 11, 2011. The iPad 2 has also been rumored to be called "iPad HD".

Here are some of the upgrades to the iPad2 in comparison to the original iPad:

Faster Processor with great graphics
iPad2 has 2 core processors (dual-core) in one A5 chip. This is an upgrade to the A4 processor in the original iPad. You'll notice the difference when you're surfing the web, watching movies, making FaceTime video calls, gaming, and switching from app to app. Multitasking is smoother, apps load faster, and everything just works better.

With up to nine times the graphics performance, playing games on iPad is even faster, smoother and more realistic. Even with the sleeker design and higher power, Apple claims the battery life will still stay the same amazing 10 hours.

FaceTime again with two cameras
iPad2 has 2 cameras - one on the front and one on the back. The Apple fans got a taste of FaceTime with the launch of iPhone 4. It has been gaining so much popularity lately that iPad2 has decided to add the FaceTime functionality to the iPad2 through the two cameras. The front camera puts you and your friend face-to-face. Switch to the back camera during your video call to share where you are, who you're with, or what's going on around you. When you're not using FaceTime, let the back camera roll if you see something movie-worthy. It's HD, so whatever you shoot is a mini-masterpiece.

More variety with Two Colors
iPad2 is available in both black and white whereas the original iPad was only available in black.

Lighter and Thinner in your hands
Apple promises to deliver what it advertises about iPad being 'Less in your hands, More at your fingertips'.iPad2 will really make you feel the difference when you hold it your hands. iPad2 is up to 15% lighter than the original iPad. The iPad2's WiFi-only model weighs about 1.3 pounds. The lighter weight could mean a lot for those always on the go and for those who like to carry their iPad around like any other book.

Apple is known to give a lot of importance on the sleekness and thinness of their gadgets. iPad2 is 33% thinner than the original iPad. It is 0.34 inch (8.8 mm) thin.

Introducing the iPad Smart Cover
The iPad Smart Cover protects your iPad without adding bulk to its thin, light design. It works with iPad such that the smart magnetic technology built into each really pulls them together. Open the Smart Cover and your iPad wakes up instantly. Close it and your iPad goes to sleep automatically. The smart cover also acts as a perfect stand for the iPad when you are watching movies or playing games.

The above lists only the major visible upgrades. There is much more in store including the gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, HDMI out and the features supported by the new operating system iOS 4.3

Undoubtedly, iPad2 will prove to be incredible technology under your fingers. It definitely is up to an individual whether he would like to invest in iPad2 after having invested in the original iPad. One would think pricing and affordability would be a concern here, but history has it that Apple has its strategies well-thought of, be it design, development or marketing. The release and sales of the several upgraded versions of iPod and iPhone are excellent examples. It is rumored, that the new targets for 2011 is that Apple will ship up to 4 million iPad2 per month, reaching a total of 40 million iPads for 2011. And despite competition from big brand vendors like Samsung, Motorola and more, analysts predict that iPad2 will continue the Apple's tablet dominance in the market.

Latest on the iPad2

So the latest for those waiting to possess the iPad2 is that it goes on sale Friday March 11 at 5PM and two weeks later in 26 other countries. Unfortunately, Apple is not taking pre-orders for their second generation iPad. Reports reason that when pre-orders began for the Verizon iPhone, there were so many pre-orders that it took both the Verizon and Apple online stores down within two hours. Though the sales were enormous, the reality lines were short at Verizon stores since most people pre-ordered online. Apple does not want this to happen again. Apple wants long lines for iPad2 which would provide better advertising for a major Apple product release. March 11 would see many who owned the original iPad upgrading to the newer model, while many others who didn't get the first generation iPad buying their first iPad.

Smaller, pocket-size iPod device displays tend to be convenient, but enjoying movies with a tiny screen is often extremely irritating.

Why will I want an iPad?

Apple's iPad website gives the major explanation, "All of the included applications for the iPad were designed from the ground to use the large multi-touch screen and the sophisticated capabilities of the iPad. No matter what kind of look you're going for, no matter what your preferences are and no matter what kind of budget you have to work with, you can find a perfect option that will personalize your favorite new gadget while protecting it at the same time.

Many prefer iPad hard cases, because these offer really sturdy and secure protection for the gadget. They can be made from metal, hard plastics and a variety of other materials as well. You'll find that scratches, bumps, dings, and all other kinds of mishaps are a thing of the past. Different colors, designs and styles are available, and with snap-on iPad hard cases you can always leave the protective case on and still access all of the buttons, ports and jacks.

Other people prefer something like soft rubber iPad skins. The most common materials for iPad skins are those soft rubbers, flexible and durable silicone and other options in addition. These easily stretch to fit your iPad and should still provide easy access to all of the buttons and functions of the device.

Generally, these soft jelly iPad skins come in solid colors or can even be clear. They also provide great protection from scratches and bumps, and will give the device more grip so it doesn't slip off of a table or out of your hands.

Another very popular choice though are the many stylish iPad decals that are available. These iPad decals basically work like stickers, you apply them right onto your iPad and they offer some great personalization because you can find nearly any kind of animation, style or design. You can even apply your iPad decals over a hard case, so you have great protection and style at the same time.

The benefit though is that unlike stickers they don't actually use sticky adhesives, so you can easily take them off without damaging the unit, and you can always change your look. Generally iPad decals provide a bit of resistance against scratches, but won't protection against hard bumps and dings. That's why a very popular choice is as mentioned applying stylish iPad decals over iPad hard cases.

When you want to protect your iPad while adding a personal touch to it as well, you'll have all kinds of choices. From really cheap silicone iPad skins to snap-on metal iPad hard cases to stylish iPad decals, you can select whatever you'd like and find it for a discount price at the same time.

Watching TV on Your iPad Is Better Than Carrying a Flat Screen TV on Your Back

With today's technology you can believe that a flat screen won't fit in your backpack but your iPad will. You can watch TV on your iPad instead of carrying around a TV on your back. Today, there is streaming video and music to tablets, Smartphones, iPads, iPhones, iPods, you're your computer. Now, you get to choose what you watch on TV through any one of these devices. All you needs is a delivery program.

Because there are so many different types of media, cable, and mobile technologies it's hard to get the right platform to view your favorite TV program or music video. There are so many companies offering services it hard to tell what they offer, such as do they have commercials with their service? Can you get their service with your mobile phone or do you have to go to another company for your phone service? Not to mention the networks that disappear from cyber space with regularity. So, what is it you can do to watch TV on your iPad?

Glad you asked - here's a list of steady, long term companies that can serve up your favorite TV to watch on any device you own.

You will be able to watch TV on your iPad, iPod, iPhone, and tablet plus your computer and you can do it legally! You know Apple's iPad came out a year ago with TV applications built in and since then other companies such as HBO have been adding applications so you can view any TV show on your iPad. Of course, you could always watch them on your computer but the iPad can and does go anywhere. It's small, lightweight, and very versatile with a strong battery that last all day.

Your iPad can transmit wireless or wired through a cable to a flat screen TV as well as any TV in your home. You may never need an antenna again for local TV shows. Just imagine watching your favorite TV show from your backyard while grilling steaks. Below is the list of applications and distributors you can use to watch TV on your iPad.

These apps have been tested on electronic devices and only the traditional TV distribution for the iPad and other devices.

iTunes- the main and largest distribution service for iPad. They carry music, TV show, live events and just about anything else you can think of to watch on your iPad. Owned my Apple Computers, iTunes supplies current and past TV show episodes at a cost of $1.99 per standard or analog TV and $2.99 for high definition TV. The application on your iPad can download them and you can be watching your favorite show in minutes. The playbacks are even with no jumping or stuttering and when connected to your TV set they look sharp and crisp. It doesn't even matter if you don't have an Internet connection, they will download through the closest cell tower. Remember, they tend to take up a lot of storage space so you might want to move them to a computer. Of course, it depends on the size of your storage space on your iPad.

Netflix - is the biggest streaming video site on the Internet. For $8.00 a month you can get unlimited, commercial-free TV shows right to your iPad. Netflix can play on most devices and all you need is an Internet connection to start watching them, they even play well on slower DSL lines. The TV shows on the iPad rarely stutter or freeze and look sharp and crisp with good color saturation.

You have a vast selection of old to new shows and of course, the latest TV episodes. The website looks a little cluttered and you have to look around for what you want but in the end it's easy to download and start watching the "best of" any show on your iPad.

Hulu Plus - is just $8.00 a month for all its shows. They are a little dated but given time the show you're looking for will show up. The main disadvantage is the ads they have on their site. Hulu Plus is the mobile download site and Hulu will only download to a computer, so you'll need an Internet connection.

Hulu Plus has more of the latest shows than Netflex and its back by major TV networks such as News Corp, HBO, and One Backer. It's believed they (the major networks) are still a little cautious about "departing from the traditional TV system". HBO is connected to Hulu Plus but you might have problems connect your iPad and TV at the same time. The application seems to have trouble working with both connected. However, the app is easy to use and the TV shows are sharp without any freezing or stuttering.

ABC Player - was made for the iPad and is free for users. They offer streaming videos for free that are of very good quality, although, they do have commercials. They have the latest hit TV series such as "Desperate Housewives" and "Grey's Anatomy." They don't always have the latest episode in the season in stock but if you hang around you'll get it eventually.

Xfinity TV- is free for Comcast users but you have to have an account already. However, as the networks and cable companies are still in a disagreement there are only a few network shows they offer. You will notice the big networks (ABC, NBC, CBS, & Fox) are missing, however they do have HBO, but not all the series are offered. You can only use the application through a Wi-Fi network but the application is easy to use and the TV shows on your iPad are of good quality.

HBO GO- the latest offering for the iPad but you have to have a cable connection in order to download any shows. That means you have to already belong to a cable company in order to get your favorite TV shows. They have a great selection of new and old TV shows and the application is a breeze to use.

WatchESPN - you guessed it! What's watching TV on an iPad without the sports channel. The sports channel is offered to Verizon's Internet users. The application was designed for the iPhone but will play quite nicely on the iPad. The quality isn't as high as some of the other TV show distributors but it is watchable. They are one of the few distributors that offer live shows to watch on an iPad.

MLB At Bat - is not just good but it's great! You can watch every major league baseball game if you are a subscriber of MLB's TV services. The yearly cost is $90 and each live broadcast of a baseball game is $15 per game. The streaming video is very good with all the highlights of the game, before, during, and after the game. There's only one problem; blackout games are still the same as they are on TV.

Watch for future applications to watch TV on an iPad and other electronic devices. Pretty soon you'll have an iWrist watch, iRing, or iBracelet so you won't ever miss another one of your favorite TV shows.

Ways to Conserve Battery Power For Your iPad

Just got your new iPad and wonder why the battery ran out so fast? Normally an iPad should last approximately 10 hours on a single charge. Of course, playing videos or any related heavy usage will likely drain the battery faster than just reading an ebook, so your actual battery life may vary depending on how you use your iPad. But there are many ways you can minimize power usage, thereby extending the daily life of your battery.

Like all batteries, your iPad's battery will eventually wear out, but by then you'll probably have a new iPad model anyway. Let go through some of the ways how you can conserve your iPad battery.

Recharging an iPad - There are two ways to recharge your iPad. If you want to use your iPad while it's recharging, plug its USB cable and adapter into an electric outlet. This is also the fastest way to recharge your iPad. On the other hand, you can also plug your iPad into a computer's USB outlet to recharge it.

Some computers with high-powered USB outlets will let you use your iPad as it charges. But if you plug the iPad into your computer and try to use it, you may see a "Not Charging" notice near the battery indicator. This indicates that your computer's USB outlet is not high-powered, and that you cannot use the iPad as it is charging.

Turning Off Wi-Fi and 3G - If you are heavy Internet users, perhaps you should leave your Wi-Fi to be turned on all the time. It will be even require more energy and drains your iPad's battery faster if iPad uses cellular phone network, which is the standard configuration of every iPad.

Turning Off Push Accounts - One of the unique feature of iPad is the Push service. If you have a supported Push Account e-mail accounts, such as yahoo.com, your email server can deliver new messages to your iPad automatically, so you don't require to check your emails manually. Of course, by doing this also mean that your iPad consume more battery. So rule of thumb, turn off your iPad's Push Accounts.

Turning Off Location Services - Another fancy feature of iPad, that used by some iPad apps, such as the Maps app, rely on the Global Positioning System (GPS) and triangulation of cellular phone towers to identify the physical location of your iPad. If it knows your physical location in the world, an iPad app can help you to find any nearest restaurants, banks, convenience stores, gas station etc. Unfortunately, Location Services burns up battery energy. If you don't need this type of service, you can turn it off to reduce power consumption.

Turning Off Blue tooth - Blue tooth is primarily used to connect an iPad wireless to a headset or keyboard. If you don't use Blue tooth devices such as an external keyboard, turning off Blue tooth can save power and increase your iPad's battery life.

Beside all the above tips, you may also want to consider these additional ideas for conserving power.

1. The simplest way to conserve battery power is to turn your iPad off every time if you don't use it.
2. You can always invest in a battery pack even the iPad's battery can last for approximately 10 hours.
3. Invest in solar panel that can use to recharge your iPad.

In conclusion, you should able to enjoy your iPad without any out of battery power issue if you combine both conservation techniques with additional power sources such as battery pack or solar panel.

What Do You Think of the New Apple iPad?

Apple has just unveiled its very latest product on the 27th of January 2010, called the iPad. It looks like a bigger version of the popular iPhone, Steve Jobs displayed the iPad at an event held in San Francisco. So what is the best thing about it? Well. It is powered by an Apple processor, called the A4, and the most shocking prospect is the price. Now the easiest way to describe the iPad, is hold your iPhone in your hands and stretch it until all the sides has a 9.7" multi-touch display, change the plastic back with an aluminium cover, and then you will have a iPad! Technology wise, it is a lot more interesting. The iPad is powered by a 1Ghz Apple A4 chip, and has a battery life of around ten hours, and includes a whole month's worth of standby time.

It only has a few ports (dock connectors), but WiFi and BlueTooth make up for that, some of the iPads models are available in 3g as well. The iPads come with either 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB of storage space. Applications from the iphone will work well on here, there is no need to change or modify, as The iPad can either run iPhone applications in a small iPhone-sized window in the middle of the screen, or press the 2x button, that will change it from small to fit the whole screen.

One application which fills the full screen on the iPad and looks incredible, is an application which allows you to have videos embedded within the iPad, so it is made to look like a real newspaper! -photos can also enlarged when pressed. For text inputting on the iPad, this is very similiar to the iPhone which has a small keyboard for you to use and on the iPad, the same process has been applied but in a bigger version, which in effect is not very comfortable and easy to use, because you have to hold the iPad in one hand whilst typing with the other. Not very thoughtful of apple l must say.

I think the iPad software is not very good, frankly speaking. Everything looks a bit geeky, because basically all they have done is taken the iPhone's main interface and supersized all of the widgets. some of the applications have a Microsoft feel to them, The Contacts application looks like a real address book, just like Microsoft, so no prizes for originality there. But still a very good feature for this product.

The main screen, is filled with the same number of image icons just like the iPhone, and those images are even still the same size so there a loads of little white spaces in between each icon. Now one of the main factors of the iPad, if not the most important factor is the E-book aspect, so Apple showed off aspect called iBooks. You can buy, read, and organise your e-books in these feature and the store currently carries books from Penguin, Harper Collins, Simon & Amp; Schuster, Macmillan, and it even uses the e-pub format!

They also have created what is called "iWork" for this product (USD 9.99 per iWorks applications). In other words, they have created iPad-specific interfaces for Numbers, Pages, and Keynote, These interfaces, have some truly annoying chrome colours and choices of patterns. Also mentioned earlier, there is the 3G function as well, and Apple has negotiated a special deal with At&T for a price of USD 14.99 per month for 250MB of data, USD 29.99 per month for unlimited data, and both options include free use of AT&T's WiFi hotspots. These are pre-paid; you can cancel any time you wish. International deals will be in place by June, but since all 3G iPads are unlocked and support micro SIMs, you can get them to work anywhere.

And here's the big shocker...

Apple will sell the cheapest iPad for only USD 499 - which will have 16GB, and no 3G. The first batch of iPads will begin shipping in 60 days these are the ones without the 3G function, The iPads with 3g built in will be shipped around 30 days later. The accessories for this is a regular dock, and a full sized keyboard.

Now the bad part ha ha...The iPad does not have a camera on the back or front!, so multi-tasking is out of the window, there is a closed eco-system inplace, just like the iPhone. So this will be no good for personal needs, in other words you cannot download and intall codes to watch you favourite TV programs! In all this is a problem I think the iPad, because at USD 499 you would want it to make your dinner as well!

What does unconditional love real?

Unconditional love means unconditional freedom. Love and freedom are two of those words that are interchangeable. Freedom of choice is unconditional love-
unconditional freedom. Choice is another of those words that are interchangeable with Love and freedom.

For the most part, humanity understands little of what the word unconditional means. Unconditional means... "NO CONDITIONS." This lack of understanding is what has divided man from man, and religion from religion throughout his sojourn in the physical reality. It is again man's ego trying to grasp the idea, and not being able to surrender to its meaning. It appears to be the nature of humanity to always add conditions to unconditional-let me demonstrate.

The one common thread that I have found weaving through man's many belief systems is that God is Unconditional Love. I have yet to have anyone tell me that this is not so, and it seems to be accepted by all belief systems that are centered on a creator. If you are in disagreement with this statement then there would probably be no sense in you reading any further.

Now it must be made clear in this example that unconditional means that there are no conditions to God's Love. Do you understand and agree, that unconditional means no conditions apply?" Be sure because it gets more difficult to differentiate as we move along.

Do you understand that if there was a condition to God's love, then God would be giving conditional love? Conditional love is not the same as unconditional love as described in the preceding paragraph. I have never heard or read anywhere that God gives conditional love, have you?

Love and freedom are the same; if there is a condition to freedom, then it is not unconditional. Freedom is given from unconditional love. Freedom of choice is the same thing as unconditional love-they are all the same thing. I know this is repetitive, but if you can follow this understanding, and accept it, then there is something further you need to understand.

The following concept is extremely difficult for most people to understand. Because love, freedom, and choice are unconditional, there can be no PUNISHMENT associated with them; once again-no punishments. Here is where the so called enlightened fall by the wayside. They cannot accept any of these things without the recourse to punishment. You can practice unconditional love, unconditional freedom, and unconditional choice with no punishments! God will never punish you! Retribution is a lie, it was all made up. Only Man will punish you. Anyone who tells you different, is not coming from unconditional love. They live in fear of you accepting these things. They do not understand what unconditional means.

Most all who have read the first half of this article will not have problems with it until they get to the "No Punishment" part. At this point man's ego takes over, and will try to reason his way out of agreeing with the concept of unconditional. He will begin to say, yes I understand what unconditional means-but! Then he will start; you cannot have people running around doing whatever they want. There is a price (condition) for freedom. You can not freely love anyone you want, that is immoral (conditional). Our choices are limited by are colour, sexual orientation, creed, age, sex, and geographic region (conditional).

If you buy into these conditions, then you are in direct contradiction with what you may have agreed with when you started reading this article. If you didn't agree to the first part, then you have read farther then you were supposed to. You were warned! For those who do not agree that God is unconditional love, and don't understand the contradiction; let me explain. There seems to be a paradox here. Can unconditional love and conditional love exist at the same time? The answer is yes, because we have forgotten our heritage, we have moved away from unconditional. God gives unconditional love; man lives in conditional love!

This is where the contradiction comes from. We understand the love of God, and we feel inferior to it. We can not except that unconditional love is who we really are, and therefore apply conditions to our love and freedom. We project our human emotions and feelings onto God, effectively insulating ourselves from the reality of unconditional love. We attach certain conditions to his love. If we do not follow his will, we will be punished by him as we would punish those that would not do our will. Man's love, freedom, and choice are conditional because we have always had freedom of choice, to choose and accept those conditions which are conditional. It is paradoxal and appropriate that humanity should set conditions for itself, in direct contradiction to what God represents, and expected from his creations-that life is free to live as it desires without limitation. It is the natural course of all living things to evolve to the next best version of itself, so the natural tendency is to survive, not destroy.

Who is it that is teaching us about conditional love? Who or what is actually separating us from the unconditional love of God? The clue has been in the Newspaper's recently and has been manifesting itself for weeks. I'm in Canada, and it is August 08, 2003-the date I have written this article. For weeks now there has been a major controversy about legalized gay marriages. Who do you think is at the forefront of all the objections? Who is it that is using fear tactics to persuade politicians and supporters to change their policies? Who has come out, and said that they fear for the souls of those supporters?

They are the same profits that have for centuries, taught us of Gods conditional, unconditional love. They have taught us that God's love is unconditional, and that it must be accepted as blind faith-and yet they have set down punishments for practicing unconditional-so in effect they have made unconditional, conditional. I don't blame you if you are confused here; who wouldn't be. They have used fear, punishment, and death to implant this lie into our belief systems. They have been as the false profit. The institute does not correctly reflect God's love, nor do the profits and teachers-they don't even come close to teaching it. Their interpretations reflect only their fear that they share with the rest of humanity.

As you reason these contradictions, listen to yourself. Are you coming from unconditional love, or are you reacting from fear? Whatever you now believe, you will have chosen it from unconditional love, because that is your true nature. It should be your reality. You have unconditional freedom to live conditionally, in conditional love without freedom of choice, if that is what you desire. There is no greater display of divine love.

At this moment try to imagine choosing to live unconditionally, try to choose between the two, conditional or unconditional. And if you chose the later, how would you condition yourself to accepting it.

Feel the unconditional love as you make a free choice. As you make the choice, you should notice that you are not being punished for it. That may come later, not from God, but from those who would denounce your choice, and who are living in the realm of conditionality. If nothing else, understand the contradiction. But also understand that who you really are is free. Do not fear for your soul, your soul can take care of itself, and of course that is exactly what it is doing. It is the BLIND FAITH (which is not surrender) that leads you into darkness, when you do not question it. Faith is never blind; it is an essential step in the process of knowing.

Not taking responsibility for your own salvation has given power to those who would use your vulnerability to keep you on the straight and narrow-not yours, but theirs.

The human ability to see black and call it white, is a real blessing in a world of contradictions that require us to make a choice, and believe nothing else. There is no one that is more blind than he who will not see. This has led us into the notion of right and wrong; you are wrong, I am right. We both cannot be right-right?

As you learn to accept the choices of others not being as your own, you will free yourself from the necessity of making judgments about them, and you will be practicing unconditional love. Your new found love for yourself and humanity will set you free. It will be another major step into expanding your enlightenment. To truly free humanity, mankind must see all aspects of itself as being free; as being created from absolute unconditional love. In the greater picture, all things are perfect as they are. It is not necessary to like someone as they are, but it is necessary to love them unconditionally as they are.

The bottom line is that you cannot live your life unconditionally because you live in a physical world that is conditional. However, it doesn't stop you from experiencing unconditional love. Absolute unconditional love is the very nature of the creator-which you are-and it is only when you are focused on yourself as Creator that you will experience unconditional love.

What iPad Case Best Fits Your Lifestyle?

Their perfect new iPads could get scratched, dented, smashed or broken with scary ease. For all these conscientious owners and others who simply want their iPads snug and safe and easy to carry around, these wonderful accessories called iPad skins or cases are a must!

Hard Shell and Soft Shell Cases

iPad cases come in a variety of hard and soft shells, sometimes made of leather with soft suede linings and sometimes of rip-stop nylon. These cases are absolutely essential accessories for iPads. The well-fitting hard cases are impact resistant and protect the iPad from physical damage, while the protective films keep that beautiful crisp display scratch-free.

Weather Resistant iPad Cases

There are weather resistant cases, which might look slightly bulky but have some really cool advanced features, besides being water-proof, UV resistant and keeping the iPad dry and clean in the worst conditions. The binder cases work like leather folders, with the iPad sitting comfortably inside one sleeve. A simple loop and a flap or a velcro strap usually closes the case like a book or a diary. They are stylish and very suitable for office executives.

Our favorite weather resistant iPad case is the Sleevz Form Fitting Optex Sleeve. It protects the iPad from the elements and also gives it a more modern look.

Carry and Courier iPad Cases

For lesser mortals there are carry cases or courier cases, both available in a variety of splendid colours. Carry cases are neat zippered bags that look just a little more serious than purses. They have comfortable straps and handles that contribute to the ease of carrying the iPads, without fear of the bag slipping out of one's hand. Courier cases come without the straps and fit tightly around the tablet. These pocket sleeves are well padded and once the iPad is zipped in, the case then can be dumped into a backpack without worry and is good to go.

Skin iPad Cases

Skin cases, those light and flexible protective shells, which allow charging and synchronising of iPads while still in their cases, are extremely popular amongst the iPad owners. They fit like a second skin, are tear resistant and are usually seen in funky, bright colours. They are also available in more sober hues.

Standing iPad Cases

The standing cases do exactly as their name suggests and prop up the iPads for movie or TV show viewing. These cases are very cleverly made; they protect the tablet in the form of a closed case and then separate the two sides to flip into a stand. They are perfect for owners who use the iPad mostly for visual entertainment.

One of our favorite standing iPad cases is the Sprout Creations Wood Shellcase made by VersAudio. Each case is designed to allow full iPad functional access while in use, anda soft inner lining and durable wood exterior to ensure the iPad is protected.

Grip iPad Cases

Grip cases are very like skin cases, but also allow users to hold their iPads safely by augmenting the edges into wings that can be firmly grasped or frames that make it easy for owners to grip them securely in any position. Their designs are ideal for classrooms and households with active, curious children.

The Trident Kraken Hybrid Case is one of the most popular grip iPad cases.

Every individual iPad owner has individual requirements that the iPad case makers have tried to address in their designs. The market is flooded with options, so that the cautious new owners only have to look for what they want and most definitely they will find it.

Where To Buy An iPad 2 - The New Apple iPad Is Coming Out Soon But There Is No Place To Buy It Yet

Where to buy an iPad 2?

If you want to buy an Apple iPad 2 then you will have to buy it at the Apple Store when it comes out. A lot of people want to know where to buy an iPad 2 today? Properly, the answer is that they will have to have to wait somewhat longer. However, the public who seem to "know things" say of the fact that different iPad by Apple two will be produced in March or possibly April of 2011. Almost all we can easily do now is only relax and also question to what modifications they are going to try to make as well as how better it is.

Together with the discharge of the Apple iPhone in Fall 2010, you can easily have top-notch educated guesses around the new features for the Apple iPad 2. Let's crack it all the way down:

The iPad 2 will have a much better display screen

Right after considering the magnificent iPhone 4 monitor I'm confident you are enthusiastic as I'm about the new iPad 2 monitor to come. They are sure to incorporate the Retina exhibit using the revise because it truly is one of the crucial selling points with the Apple's iPhone. Following considering one of these incredible screens longer than 10 minutes it is genuinely hard revisit the old ones...trust me. I've got the iPhone 3rd generation along with the brand-new retina display emits it aside.

Finally a camera on the front

I'm really shocked that this iPad didn't have a very camera for the front when it was very first introduced. Among the large causes that will I've been waiting for the iPad 2 instead of the typical Apple iPad is due to the fact of an excellent function. Now you'll be able to use Facetime to speak often to your close friends on wifi.

Combined with front facing camera needs to be a single on the back to opt for it. It just appears like a give-in that there needs to be a back facing digital camera on the iPad 2. Let's bring that to our wish lists.

What about that stuff? You know? What was it?

Memory needs to be a massive deal around the iPad 2. We saw how fast the updated Macbook airs could be, so I do not feel that expecting a quicker operating method no longer has enough the cards.

Docks and gadgets

A number of people complained about that they couldn't plug their particular iPads in on the side, so I imagine that is going to be resolved. There also needs to be an important reduction in pounds, as Apple is usually aiming to create their products as lighting as feasible.

What WON'T you see?

Just as much as men and women have been whining along with begging because of it, I truly uncertainty that you simply will at any time see expensive on an iPad 2 pill. Why is that? Flash will go fully against the monopolizing enterprise strategies that Apple mackintosh pursues. They would love you to purchase through iTunes. They would like you to purchase through the App Shop. They want you to purchase. Regrettably, many of us do not know where to buy an iPad 2.

So when could be the iPad 2 release date?

The iPad 2 ought to be released towards the end of March. I'm guessing in which by Apr 15th you'll be able to find out where to buy an iPad 2, and it'll be on this internet site or perhaps in stores.

So do not be concerned, the particular iPad to be able to will come away soon sufficient, yet what will you need to do together with your old iPads? I feel that the very best point about those is always to sell all of them on eBay Just before Apple company announces the release date from the iPad 2. Following that takes place the value with shoot down substantially and you'll always be lucky to secure a quarter regarding what you purchased it for. So sell it. At least until you know where to buy an iPad 2!

Where to Buy an iPad 3G Online From Outside the US?

Living outside the U.S.A. has its ups and downs and one of the downs is that you have to wait longer for cool releases like the iPad and the iPad 3G as Americans almost always get them first. The iPad WiFi only model was released in America on April 3 and the iPad 3G hit stores on April 30.

Apple announced at the end of April that the International release of iPad will be delayed by one month due to very high demand in the U.S. which led to shortage of supply. Thus Apple had to improvise the local U.S. supplies with the International supplies they had stored and the release was postponed. Now the official release date of the iPad in countries like Canada, Australia, England (UK), Germany and other European countries is set at the end of May. Pre-orders for the iPad in these countries will begin on May 10.

To order and buy an iPad Wifi only model or an iPad 3G from a country that doesn't sell the iPad yet, you can go to several websites online which allow you to place orders and they provide international shipping. Examples of such websites are Amazon and eBay, where merchants sell brand new, unopened iPads at reasonable prices. International shipping costs for these iPads is usually in the range of $30-$100, depending on what type of service you are offered.

You will also find used iPads (WiFi only and 3G) on eBay going for prices less than the Apple designated price. Be careful when buying an open-box iPad as there is always the possibility of it being damaged having some defect. Always make sure you get an Apple Protection Plan for at least one year so you are protected in case something happens. Another important thing you can do to ensure the safety of your new gadget is buy a protection screen for the front and back of your iPad. This will prevent scratches and cracks from appearing on your iPad. However, it will not prevent the screen from breaking if you drop it so that's always a no-no!

The actual cost of the iPad in countries outside of the US is about $100 more than the price Apple is selling it for in America. So considering external factors such as the dollar value, additional price surcharges that Apple will add to its international shipments and the time it will cost you, you are better off buying an iPad 3G from the US and having it shipped to your home country.

Why the iPad Is Good for Business

With over 8 million sold in 2010, there is no doubt about it, the Apple iPad is one of the hottest tablets to hit the market. When the Apple iPad came to the market, many businessmen had second thoughts of using it for business because of its failed abilities to do some functions that you would find on a laptop. However, with the technology changing everyday, a lot of businessmen have decided to invest in the iPad. One of the main reasons for this change of heart is the ability to add special apps to the iPad. Everyday there are new apps being created to keep up with the business world.

Why The iPad Tablet and Not A Laptop

There are a number of reasons why more and more business men and women are turning to the iPad for daily business instead of the more traditional laptop. The main reason being the size and weight of the iPad. Business people who have to travel daily prefer to carry an iPad around or similar tablet instead of a laptop. The iPad tablet weighs a measly pound and a half, while a laptop weighs closer to six pounds. The size of the iPad is roughly 8x10, while most laptops have either a 10,14, 17, or 19 inch screen and are generally over an inch thick. The next reason why more business people are choosing the iPad over laptops is the presentation features the iPad offers. With the iPad, you can use it to conduct independent presentations without needing a projector. With the iPad you can use it as a whiteboard and draw out ideas in meetings, or while you are brainstorming you can use it as a whiteboard and email your ideas to your colleagues.

The next reason is the incredible battery life of the iPad pose to the life of a laptop battery. The main complaint of most business people who use laptops is the battery life. Most people who use laptops daily will sometimes carry a second battery. With the iPad, you can go a few days without charging the battery.

The last main reason and biggest reason of all are the applications that are available for the iPad. With over 200,000 apps and new ones being developed daily, you can do more on an iPad tablet then you could with the traditional laptop. Plus, the apps are cheaper to having to buy certain software for the laptop. Some of the most popular apps for the iPad tablet for businesses are the iWork Suit, Evernote, Webex, and Bento. With these four features, a small business owner could practically run their business from their iPad.

The iWork suite is three apps in one. You have the pages, numbers and keynote. The pages are a powerful word tool, the numbers are a spreadsheet application, and the keynote is a presentation app.

The Evernote app is a note taking app that lets you tag videos, photo's and text. It then stores it in a syncing database for easy searching when you need it. Everything you tag goes into the cloud.

The Webex is an app for meeting online or for holding online presentations. This is similar to GoToMeeting. You will need a Webex membership to hold a meeting, but do not need one to join a meeting.

The Bento iPad app is used for everyday business from inventory monitoring to tracking your expenses. This app comes with 25 built in templates.

Why You Should Buy an iPad

This question appears to be the focus of so many debates since the release of the iPad in the UK. Many are comparing the iPhone to the iPad and trying to establish whether they actually do need an iPad. There are specific reasons for wanting an iPad, and it depends on the buyer needs and the everyday requirements of the user.

1. Watching videos, playing games and storing all your media.

While this can be achieved on the iPhone, the iPad offers a bigger screen and less controls. With the latest flash upgrade, gamers can try the latest games on offer.

Yes, it doubles as a gaming platform. Electronic Arts recently released iPhone and iPad versions of many of their games.

Clearly, the iPad poses a threat to even Sony and Nintendo's mobile gaming consoles simply because games on the iPad and iphone are simple to use, of high quality, and available effortlessly by simply downloading them from the app store at reasonable prices.

The iPad allows movie buffs to store all their movies for viewing of HD quality movies at any time.

2. The iPad offers sharp text when reading books.

For many who listen to their traditional mindsets, printed books remain popular. Apart from saving the environment, the iPad offers a storage medium like no other portable device. The iBook application already competes on a fierce level with Amazon's Kindle ebook reader.

Students can transfer all their books to the iPad instead of stuffing their cumbersome back packs with book after book. Movie lovers can store all their films on the iPad and if a perch is purchased like the bookarc stand, the iPad becomes a convenient way to read your latest novel or watch your films.

For education, this presents a new wave of ebook media with companies being able to release books that contain video and audio and exclusively available through iBooks.

3. For recreational use around the home and office

The great aspect of the iPad is how it fits into any lifestyle albeit for the workplace or your home. Current iPad cases allow you to perch your iPad on a stand for tables or desks. It becomes your home computer (without the Microsoft nightmarish errors) for checking your mails, what is new on Facebook, sorting your books and movies, looking up a very important travel booking, etc. This has been supported further since Bluetooth keyboards can be plugged into the iPad.

4. You are fed up of boot up errors, crashes, and well anything Microsoft related...

If you work from a desktop PC at home or work and something goes wrong with the system, it becomes time to wait for a solution to be found online or for the IT department to sort it out. All results in delays whether you are able to troubleshoot the issues or not. Perhaps your laptop crashed without any reason and it is time to bring it into your office for fixing or a problem has occurred beyond your ability to fix quickly.

This all delays your work and causes endless headaches. If you just need email access, web access, the ability to check trends on the web sites you read each day, then the iPad will suffice. Of course, you lack access to software. There are limits as opposed to being a laptop or notebook user. Though, if you just need access and no issues, the iPad wins every time.

Whether or not you buy an iPad depends on your personal needs. Weigh them up against what you really need each day for work purposes and personal usage. Perhaps the iPad offers all your daily requirements in a single portable tablet.

Apple iPad Review

Build

The iPad truly is a beautiful devious. On look at it and you will feel that we have jumped forward twenty years into the future. The iPad's exteriors is a combination of aluminum and reinforced plastic. Like most Apple mobile devices, the iPad only has one button: the home bottom found on the bottom of the iPad when help in portrait. There is the usually audio jack for those who want to plug in headphones, and also a mic. The iPad speakers do their jobs, but they are not going to blow you away with their quality.

The iPad has the standard Apple external connector which is the only way you can hook up the iPad to other devious due to the lack of a flash drive. However, there are many devious that can connect to the iPad and more are being custom built for the iPad and should be coming out soon.

The iPad weighs 1.5 pounds. It is significantly lighter than a laptop, but much heavier than your average smart phone or mobile devious. You will begin to feel the exertion in your wrist after hold the iPad for about half an hour.

Display

The iPad display is truly something to see. It packs 1024x768 pixels in its screen which seems like a low number, but images are crisp nevertheless. The color and contrast on the iPad is really amazing. The iPad's one Achilles' heel is that in direct sunlight you will see a ton of reflection on the screen, and the screen which is back lit get hard to see. This is most notice able when videos with dark scenes.

Eye strain

The has been a lot of discussion about whether or not the iPad causes eye strain. Based on my own experience and the experiences of others who have tried the iPad, this is really a hit or miss thing. I do not get any eye strain from using the iPad even after spending an hour reading an eBook. However, if you plan on making the iPad your next eBook reader, I would advise you to go test out an iPad at the Apple store first.

Media Consumption

Media consumption was supposed to be the one thing that the iPad excelled at, and it does.

iBooks: iBooks is Apple's eReader that can be downloaded free on the iPad. It comes with a free sample of Winnie the Pooh. iBooks gives the readers a lot of options such as changing the text size or the brightness of the screen. iBooks does not have a huge selections of books yet, but it offers books in full color and the touch screen ui makes it fun to read.

Kindle: Amazon has made a dedicated app on for the iPad which always Amazon customers to access their eBooks or buy more from the Amazon store. The Kindle has about 340,000 more eBooks than Apple's own iBooks. You can now watch videos that are embedded in the eBooks.

Comics: I think that comics where made to be viewed on a tablet like device. The beautiful display of the iPad combined with the interactive touch screen makes reading a comic on the iPad almost more enjoyable than holding a physical copy in your hands. Marvel and DC Comics both have dedicated apps for the iPad where you can buy new releases. Japanese manga are slowly making their way to the iPad for those of you who are fans of manga.

Magazines: So far the magazines that have been released on the iPad have enjoyed huge success. Big names such as Time Magazine, GQ, and Wired have all made dictated apps for the iPad where you can download the latest edition. The magazine companies are really excited about the opportunities the iPad brings and are still experimenting with how they should deliver their content to their subscribers. The eMagazines still have a way to go with things such as ui and pricing, but you can expect them to get better with time.

Newspapers: The iPad is an ideal product for reading the latest news in the morning at the breakfast table or on a train on your way to work. USA Today, BBC, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and many more have already made their content assessable on the iPad.

Video

The iPad is an excellent device for looking at video's. There are many options of where you can get videos from. Off course you have iTunes which has a huge selection of videos that you can buy and upload to your iPad. With a paid subscription you can also access Netflix on your iPad and stream movies and shows. For you quick videos you can always head over to YouTube and watch movie trails or a funny clip.

Music

The way you access the music is a little different from the iPhone, but it is still simple and easy. Apple has simple merged its iPod functions into iPad. One of the strong points of the iPad is that you can create your playlist directly on the iPad without having to use iTunes.

Keyboard

The iPad keyboard is much bigger than the iPhone or iPod Touch virtual keyboards, and the extra room makes it a breeze to type on. Don't expect to be able to bang out a 10 page paper (although I've heard that it has been done) but for quick typing the iPad will get the job done.

Gaming

The gaming on the iPad is not for extreme gamers, but more so for the casual one. In fact, I've heard of dozens of people who haven't played games in years finding a couple that they really enjoy on the iPad. The iPad offers all of the classic board games such as chess and scrabble and you can even play multiplayer. Then there are games that were designed specifically for the iPad. These games are clever, challenging, addictive, and loads of fun. And did I mention cheap? Most games are free and none get more expensive then about $5.00.

If you are asking yourself, where to buy an iPad then you already know what you are looking for - the new Apple gadget that everybody wants. The only question is where can you buy an iPad at the cheapest price and the safest way you can do that. I will highlight a few options available to people living in the US, as well as Canada and eleswhere to buy the iPad. Let's start of with the most traditional method.

Buy an iPad from Apple Retail Outlet Stores

Apple now has 284 Retail Stores worldwide, of which 14 are in Canada. All of which are situated in high population areas and are serving over 30,000 customers on a daily basis. Most people find it conventional and convenient to get a hands-on feel of and try out new features of the product they are purchasing which in this case is the iPad.

Buy an iPad from the Apple Online Store

One thing Apple is known for is quality. Around the globe, whenever you hear an Apple product, you know it will be the same quality and consistency that you will find anywhere else. Thus, many regular customers of Apple have no problem buying their products from Apple.com and it is no different for the iPad. You can order your iPad from the Apple Online Store and either have it delivered to your address or to your favorite Apple Retail Store that is closest to you, so you can pick it up whenever you like. The best part is you have the same options that one gets when buying from a store - you can pick the memory of you iPad (16GB, 32GB or 64GB), whether you want just the WiFi or WiFi and 3G, any accessories you might want - iPad Keyboard Dock, iPad Case, iPad Dock, iPad USB Power Adapter, the AppleCare Protection Plan and more. Plus, you can buy anything else with your Amazon iPad order and include it in your free shipping purchase! Final Thoughts

Regardless of the route you decide to take to buy an iPad, be it online or at the Apple retail store, one thing you can be certain is you will pay the same price anywhere you shop. Apple has always maintained that their prices are consistent everywhere and the same will apply to the iPad tablet. However, it is possible to get a cheap iPad on eBay, if someone decides to sell their own iPad. Of course, they have the choice of making the price high or low compared to what they paid, and depending on the condition of the new or used iPad. iPad 2 Review - The Evolution Of An Amazing Device

It is barely a year since Apple unleashed its original iPad, a game changing device in the world of mobile computing. Now the tablet is firmly established as a niche product: smaller than a laptop or netbook but larger than a smartphone. The Apple iPad might not have been the first tablet device but it was the one that renewed the format for the mobile internet age.

Now, twelve months later, with the original iPad a runaway success, but with other manufacturers getting in on the act in greater numbers, Apple has released the iPad 2. The excitement and anticipation concerning this new model has been remarkable, so in this article we'll have a look at what the new iPad brings to the table, and whether it makes sense for owners of the old model to go for an upgrade straight away.

Whenever Apple launches a new, upgraded version of one of its products, you can be sure that the new model will strive for something noticeably different in design compared to its predecessor. This is how Apple uses design to stimulate desire for its products. While there is always technical advancement, at the same time appearance and style are used by Apple to distance the new product from the old and make what was 'new' a few months ago seem 'old hat'.

Bearing this in mind, the new iPad 2 is surprisingly recognizable from the old model. To be fair, when it comes to the tablet it would be hard to reinvent the wheel; having said that, the new model is noticeably thinner and sleeker than the original. There is also a curve to the edge of the new unit that gives it a different feel in the hand. As well as being thinner than the first iPad, the new model is also lighter, by 80 grams.

Moving on to the technical specifications, if we compare the old iPad with the iPad 2 we can see that there have been some big improvements made. The new unit is powered by an A5 dual core 1 GHz processor chip, which is effectively twice as fast as the single core A4 chip in the old iPad. The iPad 2 has 512 MB of RAM, again twice that of the first generation iPad. Also on the plus side, the iPad 2 features an upgraded graphics engine that is claimed to be nine times faster than the previous version. On the other hand, the iPad 2 screen is the same (1024x768 pixels) as that on the old iPad, so there is no improvement there.

A significant step forward with the iPad 2 is in its provision of two cameras: a rear-facing cam for video and still capture, and a front-facing VGA cam for video chats. In contrast the original iPad had no camera of any kind. Another improvement with the iPad 2 is its inbuilt gyroscope that detects whether the unit is being held horizontally or vertically. This feature aims to counteract an annoying tendency of the old iPad to display images or pages at the wrong orientation if the unit was moved suddenly.

As you might expect, the enhanced hardware of the iPad 2 makes for faster processing and smoother display of some kinds of material. Simple web browsing, using the supplied Safari browser, doesn't seem that different but video playback is definitely somewhat smoother. However, one disappointment is the camera quality. The resolution is not that great, either for capture of video and stills, or for the quality of video chats. This is a little surprising given the superior specifications of the cameras on the iPhone 4. On the other hand, a tablet like the iPad is not really an ideal size or shape to use as a camera. Perhaps the company's research shows that buyers use the iPad chiefly to browse the net and as an e-reader, and so there was no point in over-specifying the device.

One other thing we have to mention is the issue of Adobe Flash support. In common with the various iPhones and previous iPad, the iPad 2 does not support Flash, so any websites dependent on this technology (and there are lots of them) will not display on the iPad. Some websites, for example Google's various sites, offer HTML5 versions as a substitute for Flash, but many other websites do not so these will not be viewable at all on the iPad 2.

In conclusion, we shall try to answer the twin questions of whether you should choose the iPad 2 over another tablet, and also whether existing iPad users should replace their machines. With regard to other tablets out there at the moment, the chief contender seems to be the Motorola Xoom. If you put the iPad 2 up against the Xoom, in our opinion the Xoom comes out slightly on top. The display is crisper and brighter, and the Motorola is better specified all round. On the other hand, the iPad is smaller and lighter, which is an advantage, even when performance is not quite as good. Of course, the other major difference is the interface. The Xoom is an Android device, and Android has increasing numbers of fans. The adaptability and flexibility of the Android OS is definitely greater than that of the Apple iOS, but to this day many people, especially those already used to Apple devices, prefer the smoothness of the Apple interface.

If you already own an iPad, you may be wondering whether or not to upgrade. If you are the kind of person who has to get the latest and greatest, and for whom the cost is not a concern, then yes, you should go for it. The iPad 2 has an improved, sleeker case and a noticeably zippier performance. You will certainly see a speed difference compared to the old model. On the other hand, if you have only recently purchased the iPad, you could take comfort in knowing you have an excellent product and enjoy it for what it is. Unless you are desperate to be up to date, you should perhaps wait for the iPad 3, or for a discount on the iPad 2, which will probably come at some point when this brand new product has been on the market for a while.
