Why You May Need the Apple iPad

Are you an author, a blogger or simply an overall writer? If you're a serious writer and blogger, you may indeed need an Apple iPad.

People have been complaining about the lack of Flash in the iPad, but this is simply off the mark. We shouldn't label the iPad as under achiever without understanding the device first, all while still being blinded by the pre-announcement hype last year. Now that the iPad has been unveiled, and selling very fast, we can admit its game-changing role and look at how this device will also change our daily routine, probably more than what the iPhone has done. It is no-brainer if you are a writer, just invest those dollars and grab your iPad.

Why is this so? Here are the valuable reasons why you must own one. When you have tasted and gotten used to a dual screen setup, you will not aspire to return to a single monitor setup anymore. No laptop, or software, is useful enough to exchange the productivity of having two screens. Neither spaces nor virtual desktops can anywhere practically emulate the experience of two screens side-by-side. Folks like Bill Gates has like three monitors. When you get used to multiple screens there is no turning back. The Apple iPad makes this all workable. A central part of writing an article, for example, is often the preliminary research or study about the subject. Do you remember having tons of tabs open, researching for facts, looking for quotation marks and so much more? With the Apple iPad you can now do all this on a second screen, but instead of this screen being static in your desk setup, you can carry it around. You can work anywhere, on the couch, at the kitchen table, on the road, all while having a nicely sized and light screen. You don't have to strain your eyes on the small screen of your iPhone or PDA where content is only 320 px. The addition of Exposé for Mobile Safari app will only make your user experience and research more enjoyable. With copy and paste functionality it is easy to instantaneously move your quotes to annotations or even email them without delay to your working PC.

Another way is to employ Pastebot for copy & paste functionality across your wireless home or network. The most important plus of using an iPad as a support screen instead of a monitor is its simplicity. We all know that as soon as you plug in a second monitor this one will be clouded with multiple windows: IM, email, media player, office and so on. Now you can move it all to the second screen but still allows you to keep the fast info and distractions coming. With no multi-tasking in iPad, you will be able to focus on doing just your study, appraisal and even writing. Less is more. Simple, as desired!

Writing on the iPad you will be able to create in a clutter-free background, no buttons and user interface distraction. You can focus on what is important. Write, use the iPad as your Office 2010 minus the horrid, distracting ruler and other User Interface - UI clutter. Many experts acknowledge this that the UI is where Apple Computer has done excellent job. You'll be fond of it as soon as you try the iPad.

Last but not least, the iPad will run almost all of the apps designed for the iPhone. You just download them from the App Store. Best is if you already have apps for your iPhone or iPod touch, you can just sync them to iPad from your Mac or PC. There is no need to spend again on applications that you have already purchased before. If you already use WriteRoom or SimpleNote to sync your notes and drafts via the net, you can install these on your iPad. The same thing for the games that you have already bought. Cool? You bet.
