More Eateries Adding an iPad Restaurant Menu for Convenience

More restaurants are adding digital menus in the form of iPad tablets, according to recent news articles and social media updates that are trending. It's not really all that surprising, either. These state-of-the-art tablet computers have been around for a few years now and already have millions of different applications that can be added to them. An interactive restaurant menu application has been long overdue. In this article, learn about a few of the many restaurants that have already upgraded to the digital age.

Chicago Cut Uses iPad Restaurant Menus for Interactive Wine Lists

According to recent articles in the news, Chicago Cut - a popular steakhouse in Chicago - has added 40 iPad restaurant menus to the mix for guests to use as interactive wine lists. The steakhouse features more than 750 different bottles of wine, and the digital menus allows guests to more easily pair a good wine with their meal. Patrons can also learn about the vintage of wines. The manager, David Flom, has reported a 20% increase in wine sales since they first implemented these interactive wine lists.

Au Bon Pain Replaces Paper Order Pads with iPad Restaurant Menus

A popular café chain in Boston that has more than 220 locations, Au Bon Pain, has converted six pilot locations into iPad restaurants. They feature the tablets for guests to browse and order their menu items from. According to the marketing manager, they are still testing out whether or not they wish to add these to all of their locations. If the existing locations that have these iPad food menus prove worthwhile, the café chain could add them to the other 200 plus locations in the near future.

Stacked in LA Offers a Tableside iPad for Restaurants

A popular burger joint in Los Angeles features these digital menus at the tables in several of their locations. They allow guests to custom order menu items - notably burgers which the joint specializes in - and they can order everything else from menu using them, too. Patrons can even tender payment at the table, and the digital menus allow for nearly endless combinations of specialty burger and pizza orders.

Bones in Atlanta Features iPad Restaurant Menus

Bones, a steakhouse in Atlanta, has been using these menus for several months to provide a wine list for their patrons. They have reported that there has been a vast increase in wine sales since they implemented them. In a recent interview with the press, the wine steward acknowledged that the iPad menus were great, but that guests were asking fewer questions about pairing or vintage because that information was offered on the menus.

Android Digital Food Menus Present Affordable Alternative

For restaurant owners that may not be able to afford to add the lavish and often costly iPad tablets to their venue, they have a more affordable alternative to the iPad restaurant menu: Android tablets. These tablets cost a lot less money than iPad tablets do, but offer nearly the same features. Newer digital menu software is compatible with either platform, opening the door to adding digital menus to nearly any restaurant.
