Do Free iPads Offers Really Work? The Truth May Actually Surprise You!

So Are Free iPads Legit or Scams?
We've all seen those free offers online for iPads and wonder do free iPad offers really work or are they just scams? How can companies afford to give away iPads for free and still make a profit? I've always been told if an offer seems too good to be true it probably isn't; but I am glad to be wrong. There are lists of free items available and I was happy to see the iPad on the list.

You may be thinking to yourself, "This is too good to be true. It must be a scam." The reality is, you CAN get an iPad for free, provided that you do something in return. First, these companies will ask you to fill out a simple form to see if you qualify for their free offer. If you qualify, you're normally have two ways of getting your free iPad:

1) Refer your friends or family members.

2) Try some of their products or trial offers. Some of offers are actually decent, such as game and movie rentals. However, out of all the offers, I have found the credit card offers to work best for me. I sign up for a number of zero interest or low interest credit cards, which help me get rid of my high interest credit cards, and then I am eligible for my free gift. The best part about the credit card offers is you can also get free miles for airline tickets and cash back for purchases made. If you've had enough of the credit card after a while you are always able to cancel it as well.

Companies who run free iPad offers get paid by third party advertising agencies to direct new customers their way or to direct potential product testers to their offers. Advertising is very expensive and many companies prefer to use free offers to get your opinion of their products or to have you try their product free with the hopes you will become a life long client in the future. This has been going on for years and I only found out about it when a close friend of mine added me to her referral list and showed me how this process works.

But There are Rules to Follow When Signing up for Your Free Apple iPad:
Be sure you understand the terms and conditions for the free product you desire. Usually there is only one account allowed per Free product per household. NEVER sign up twice for the same offer; even if the offer is on different sites you will get caught. Don't try to use false information or different addresses to get multiple products. Most companies are well aware of this trick.

Also, please note that when looking for free iPad offers, be careful of websites that ask for your bank information or social security number. These are usually scam sites and you should definitely stay away from them.

The Truth Behind The New Apple iPad 2

Apple seems to have done it again with the iPad. With its lightening speed, slender design and lightweight feel, this second generation tablet computer is truly a chip off the old block. And if you are looking to purchase an Apple iPad 2 soon, you should arm yourself with as much information on this product and what it can do for you as you can. The investment pays for itself well beyond the price. You will find out how the iPad has improved, what physical characteristics and features were added and some pros and cons about the product.

How has Apple improved on an original?

Apple designed the iPad 2 a lot thinner than the first version. It's light and easier to handle. Although I'm not an owner of version one, I have heard that one is a little bulkier and harder to handle. It's amazing at how Apple was able to get everything housed in such a tiny space. There is an improvement on graphics too, with this model. Gamers love the ability to take a picture with the system's camera, upload it and use it as a level giving it a personalized touch. iPad 2 also uses a A5 duel processing system which is really fast and with approximately 10 hours of battery life makes this an enjoyable and convenient addition to any electronic collection.

Less with More

The iPad 2 comes with two cameras. The front camera is used for video conferencing with FaceTime. Talk face to face with the push of a button and if you know anyone in the world who has a Mac, iPad 2, or iPhone 4 it's really nice. On the back, an HD video recorder and camera, but the camera does not come with flash. There also seems to be a significant improvement in the audio area with the speakers giving better sound quality.

Some Pros and Cons with iPad 2

Most of what has been said can be considered great reasons for considering purchasing the Apple iPad 2. And if those are not enough, this system also allows the user access to Google books, iBook, Nook and Kindle giving hours of reading enjoyment. But the iPad comes with some quirks that may or may not bother some users. For one, the iPad 2 does not have a dedicated SD card slot. This means that storage capabilities are limited or users have to tug extra extensions around. To get around all this, it is advised that users look at the 32 or 64 GB. Also, iPad doesn't support flash so if you are the kind of user who is used to Adobe Flash to view certain websites, this may be a determining factor. Compared to Android's product line of tablets which are cheaper in price and they can support flash. So if you find yourself waiting in long lines of retail outlets or waiting 3 to 4 weeks from ordering online, if you know what you want from your iPad tablet half your battle is over.

The Truth Lurking Behind the Free iPad Beta Research Adverts

Since the invention of the internet, unscrupulous individuals have used it to further themselves financially. The email scams of old, promising you millions if you just help them get an amount of money into the UK - although still around - are much less prevalent than they were. The condition to this huge amount of money becoming yours? You need to send them thousands of pounds/dollars of your own money, just to be sure.

Well, the scams are moving on, and at a frightening technological pace. In 2010, the Apple iPad was released upon to the world. Every techy individual on the planet (well, nearly) would want one, so the scammers promptly seized upon the promise of the free iPad to lure unknown numbers of individuals into numerous scams.

The most renowned one is the recent iPad Beta testing team scam that famously hit social networking site Facebook. If you have seen an advert that looks to be an official Apple advert, claiming to be from a small team - the iPad research team - who will allow you to have, and keep, and iPad, simply for sharing your views about the product with them, then beware. Test an iPad and get to keep it?

Seems OK right? Well, not really, not to anyone who has any experience with Apple. Professionals like big time technology bloggers and journalists may get their hands on a free iPad if Apple deem so. Mortals like you and me? Nah. We have to buy them, - and we will - but at full price.

So how do the free iPad Beta tester scammers make their money? When you sign up, you give them your mobile phone number. This mobile number is then used to sign you up to pay subscription service. Voila! The scammers have your cash. By the time you notice, a good amount of cash has winged it's way to them, and you are left out of pocket.

The moral of this story? Use your common sense. The majority of people who signed up for the free iPad scams won't have even Googled it. Google everything. I may sound like a spokesperson for Google, but if most of the people who are now a fair bit poorer had just searched to try and clarify the beta tester 'offer', then they wouldn't be out of pocket.

If you're at all worried that you might have been lured into this particular scam - you'll have a good idea if you may have been by now - then there's a simple solution to stop you losing any more cash. Ring your network provider! Next time? Google is your friend. Of course, there is no guarantee that you won't be scammed again, a few internet 'testimonials' can do wonders for reputation. But you're more likely to be scammed if you're ignorant. Arm yourself with knowledge. In the age of the internet scammer, it's your only weapon.

The lure of a free iPad, although tempting, must set off alarms somewhere, but in the rush to believe it, and to get an expensive gadget for nothing, seemingly sensible people lose all their wits and run head first, straight into a scam.
